Day Trippin’ in Black Mountain

Our Saturday adventures began in Black Mountain, NC at the Bramblewood shop that offers unique gifts for everyone on your lists.  The store is an eclectic mix of old and new delights that change throughout seasons.  Elyse and I found an antique toy car, hub caps, handmade jewelry and décor items to decorate with.  Next door we found Thyme and Again gift shop with clothes, necklaces and accessories with gifts for all occasions.   Further up we stopped at Black Mountain Book and Cases store which specializes in used and rare books.  These were lots of books to choose from for the long winter months.  Our last stop before lunch was at the C.W. Moose Company which has oodles of winter clothing, hats, scarves, hiking gear, and amusing moose accessories for the entire family.  They also have some unusual jewelry items available in the store.  Our last stop was at The Trailhead for lunch.  The menu offers lots of gluten free options for as well as traditional fare to enjoy.  They have a huge beer and drink menu as well.  Our adventures ended at Well-Bred Bakery & Café in Asheville.  The Chocolate Soufflé gluten free cake was heavenly. Plan a trip to Black Mountain and Asheville for your next day trip in the NC Mountains for a great collection of eclectic shops and restaurants.
